His sermon was very instructive and appreciated. Mrs. W. H. Smith was shopping at Indianapolis Thursday.

Dr. B. Miller transacted business at Greenfield Thursday. 4 Doc Rigdon and wife were at Shelbyville Monday. Cecil Harrison was at New Palestine Saturday.

Annabel and Mae Miller were the guests of Martha Scudder Sunday. Mr. Gunn and niece, Mrs. Harrison, visited A. B.

Gray and family Sunday afternoon. J. L. Rohm was at Greenfield last Sunday. Rev.

Addison preached at the Christian church Sunday. Mrs. Will Mart-in and Mrs. E. B.

Miller called on Mrs. McCullough Friday evening. Mrs. Ida Hilt visited her mother at this place Friday. M.

E. Sunday school attendance, 91, and collection, 2.14. prise Sunday, March 15th. Tuesday, the 17th, was her 47th birthday, but her friends thought it more convenient to surprise her on Sunday. There were thirty-five in attendance.

Earl Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. David Calder-head, James Townsend, Mrs.

Carrie Springer, Mrs. Martha Richards, Willi'j Shear, Mrs. Christina Oslcr-rneier and son, George, all of Indianapolis. At noon a bountiful dinner was served. Mrs.

Calderhcad surprised Mrs. Spilker by having a large birthday cake, lighted with candles. The afternoon was spent with songs and games. The music was furnished by Mrs. George Ostermeier at the piano and Willie Shear on the violin.

Mrs. Spilker received many nice and useful presents. All wished her a happy birthday. Sunday school at 10 a. m.

Preaching Sunday evening at 7:30. visit her brother, Will Draper, at New Castle. Morton Stanley, wife and daughter, Katherine, visited his sister, Mrs. Avery Rawles, at Carthage Sunday. Miss Grace Tjyier, of Knighls-town, visited Mrs.

Leslie Buggies, Sunday evening. Quite a crowd from here saw The New Minister at Knightstown Thursday night. Wm. McDaniel and family will move to Centerville as soon as he can find a house. Mr.

McDaniel will have charge of the section. Mrs. Charles Carter, of Indianapolis, visited her mother, Mrs. La-vina Carroll, Sunday. Mr.

and Mrs. Earl Addison and Ross Rock were at Richmond Sunday, guests of Estella Watt. Miss Ruth Frost, of Indianapolis, spent Sunday with friends here. She is attending business college. Elva Linder, of Indianapolis, is spending a few days with her parents, John Linder and family.

Vinton Armston, who is employed at Indianapolis, spent Sunday with Andy Armston and wife. Wm. Niles was painfully injured Monday at the sawmill, the saw tearing his clothing and lacerating his arm. It was necessary to take six stitches to close the wound. to be the only German contestant, ami is working for a prize.

Miss Margaret Williamson visited Mrs. Smith and daughter, Saturday and Sunday at Finly. Miss Mendenhall spent the weekend with Indianapolis friends. Mr. and Mrs.

Louis Sell richer were at Indianapolis Tuesday night. They attended a St. Patrick's day party. Rev. Cross and wife gave a reception to the official board Wednesday evening.

Liltlo Helen Mace has been sick. Mumps arc prevalent here. Myrtle Sclirieber was at Indianapolis the first of the week. Geraldine Conklin has been visiting her grandparents at Kentland the past two weeks. Tin young people of the Christian church are preparing for a play to he given in Hie near future.

Miss Elizabeth Means, of London, visited tier sister, Mrs. Roscoe Andrews, last week. Dr. Mace is driving a new Buick roadster. Aunt Ria Stewart has been sick for some time.

New Palestine seems to be imbued with spring frills. The general stores arc getting in attractive spring goods, millinery stores are busy, hardware and implement men have much to do. It is rumored llial one of our barbers contemplates taking unto himself a lady assistant. Surely spring has come. and Saturday at Greenfield filing her Jacob Davis, who is se-rioiifiy ill.

diaries Williams, Sunday. OIVODGE REFUSED Couple's Trial Ends Whore it Began Without Legal Separation Dismiss Cross Complaint. The suit of Kenneth S. Alford vs. Einora Alford for divorce, came to an Monday afternoon in Circuit Court.

Botli parties to the trial are young and both had filed complaints, but the cross complaint of the wife was withdrawn ami the trial proceeded on the complaint of the husband. After two days in trial. Special Judge liinchnian refused to grant the divorce, finding for the defendant and assessing the costs against the plaintiff, and also allowing $50 attorney fees against Hie plaintiff. In the case of Minnie G.

New-house vs. C. L. Newliouse for divorce, and 500 alimony, a hearing on motion for suit money was heaid. The defendant was ordered to pay 1.25 a week for support of the plaintiff, ami 15 attorney fees.

Loehr was formerly Jus-line Stubbs, of Wilkinson. Raymond Wagoner left Monday morning for Winona, where he goes as pastor. Miss Frances Linder has been ill but is improving. The sixteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Alford, of Maxwell, was buried here Friday. Woodie Oliver, wife and daughter of Fortville, visited Charles Archer and family over Sunday. The driving pony of Mrs.

Jane Hunt had its leg broken and had to be killed last week. Several attended the Alford divorce trial Saturday at Greenfield. Wm. Hendren and family, near Ingalls and Ed Alford and family visited Bruce Alford Sunday. Ed DeCamp and family, of Shirley visited Sam DeCamp Sunday.

Leonard Frills and family, of Indianapolis, are visiting relatives at this place. Quite a number of school children and some of the teachers have been vaccinated. John Hittlo, who is critically ill at his home east of town, shows little improvement. The funeral of Albert Groves occurred at the M. E.

king fish. This is one of the prettiest and also one of the gamesl fishes to be found. This fish was four pounds heavier than that caught by A. B. Thomas two weeks ago.
