RURAL TRUCK DOARD FILLED Transportation Committee To Govern Produce Haul Established Here Washington. Oct. 16. (INS) In a continuation of the offensive to drive the Japanese out of the Aleutians, the Navy announced today tint U. S.

Army bombers and fighters have dropped six tons of demolition and numerous incendiary bombs on Japanese positions on Kiska Island. While aid was believed to be enroute to Guadalcanal, the Navy disclosed in a noon communique that long-range br rubers and fkhting planes were active in the attempt b) drive the Japanese out of ti Aleutians. The Navy reported that six tons of demolition bombs and numerous incendiary missies were dropped on Japanese positions at Kiska Oct. 11 starting many large fires. No enemy aircraft opposition wa.s encountered but one American fighter plane was reported lost, presumably by antiaircraft action.

Three enemy seaplanes were destroyed on the water. On Oct. 11, long-range bombers dropped six tons of demolition bombs on the camp area at Kiska but results were not observed, the Navy reputed. The Army planes have teen raiding Kiska daily whenever weather permitted for several weeks. Recently 15 tons of tombs were dropped on Kiska, last invasion post of the Japanese in America's north Pacific waters.

On Oct. 14, bombers accompanied by fighters "dropped incendiary bombs on the camp area at Kiska, starting many large fires." No ships were reiiorted hit in the latest action, but aerial observers said they saw three enemy ships beached and two sunken vessels, the result of previous bombings In that area.
